| Description |
The Acting Internship is an opportunity for the student to engage in advanced learning about psychiatric conditions and treatments with a focus on exposure to sub-specialty areas. We make every effort to create a structure that best aligns with their interests and career goals. The student can expect the rotation to have a mix of inpatient and specialty areas which may include ambulatory care, substance use treatment centers, intensive outpatient programs, etc. The student is expected to have prior psychiatry and internal medicine clerkship experience. The student will have the primary responsibility, acting directly under the attending, for the evaluation and treatment of assigned psychiatric patients. Other responsibilities may include supervision and teaching of third year medical students during their clerkship, attendance at grand rounds, and other didactics. Required written reports include daily progress notes, admission notes, and discharge summaries. |
